The National Lottery Community Fund help community projects that enable people connect, grow and build a better future. They focus on supporting people facing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination. By 2030, they plan to share over £4 billion to create stronger, fairer communities across the UK.

Founded in 1946 by Brandon Cadbury, the Oakdale Charitable Trust began supporting small West Midlands charities before shifting its focus to Wales. After moving to mid Wales, Brandon and Flavia expanded the trust’s impact, later joined by their four children as trustees. Brandon remained active until his death in 2011.

For over 25 years, Community Foundation Wales has funded grassroots groups to strengthen communities across Wales. Since 1999, they’ve awarded over £40m in grants, working with generous supporters to reach people most in need.
